About Chilcotts Auctioneers

Established in 2004 by Duncan and Elizabeth Chilcott, this independent family firm of Auctioneers & Valuers was founded with an ethos of delivering friendly and professional customer care, with openness and transparency. Since then, the Chilcotts’ team has grown in number but still takes pride in maintaining this approach.

We believe that our vendors, buyers and valuation clients should receive the same friendly and professional personal attention.”

Chilcotts employs specialists and consultants covering the full spectrum of the Art, Antique and Collectors world; the Company also benefits from experienced Saleroom and Administration staff. The Company’s Press Officer, Sue Cade, ensures that our clients’ items receive full media coverage.

In recognition of Chilcotts’ integrity, knowledge and experience, the Company was admitted to membership of The Society of Fine Art Auctioneers in 2013. SOFAA is the United Kingdom’s foremost professional organisation seeking to encourage the highest standards of probity and ethics within the Fine Art Auctioneers & Valuers industry; Chilcotts is the only firm of auctioneers in East Devon to be members of SOFAA.

A wonderful, symbiotic, relationship began in 2011 when Chilcotts asked Hospicare Honiton to join them on Sale Days to provide refreshments at the auctions! Mary Bolshaw, Carol Sexton, and team, bake delicious cakes, make excellent sandwiches, bacon butties and hot drinks; the customers love the ‘Hospiscare Café’, and together the enterprise has raised over £15,000 for the charity!
